Of course, I think the little guy is clever but he did something this evening that has me wondering just how smart he may be. Please give me your opinion of the following incident. Thomas is 33 months old. Tonight, while killing time as he was on the potty, I started singing Jingle Bells. He asked if I had bells on my ears. I didn't understand but then he explained that I had taken the bells off my ears and given them to him to play with while we sang Jingle Bells. That is when I remembered that, twelve months ago, when he was 19 months old, I had taken off my kitschy Christmas jingle bell earrings and given them to him to play with. We were all singing Jingle Bells at a Christmas market and teaching him to ring along with us. Being cheap, they broke while he was playing with them so I threw them away. We hadn't mentioned the bells since. Is it unusual for a child this young to remember something that happened a year ago? I would appreciate any and all opinions.
